The promotion of girls’ education is a basic principle for Schools Association for Formal Education for the simple fact that in our community girls/women constitute more than 55% of the populations.  When we talk of the promotion of girls’ education, we are not gender-biased but we have in mind the traditional reality that more boys than girls are sent to schools or given access to schooling because of the wrong perception that girls’ education does not go far.  As is reflected in its vision, SAFE is always bent on eliminating gender inequity and disparity in education in that every child, irrespective of his/her gender, has an absolute right to learn.   To realize the promotion of child girl education, SAFE has joined and now is an active member of Somali Education Promotion Group (SEPROG), an organization engaged in promoting child girl education throughout Somali regions.  SEPROG brings together six organizations from South-Central, Puntland and Somaliland and its major objective is to educate women and girls both in the formal and non-formal education setting.
